easter eggs

this post is for my great parents :)

i wish i could be spending easter at home with you!
baking story cookies, dying eggs...

though most of my eggs are for cakes or breakfast,
i decided to dye a half dozen to remember fun times.
at home we use wax crayons to create designs,
but this time i raided my fridge and neighboring trees for stencils.

fennel + green dye ... cilantro + turmeric.

parsley + purple dye ... fennel + green dye.

flower + coffee ... tea egg style + pink dye.

tea egg style + pink dye ... flower + blue dye.

tea egg style... insides peeking out
anyhow, this project made me realize how much i miss home!
i really am grateful to my parents..
for many memories, guidance, and support.
i hope these eggs brighten your sunday :D

happy easter, mom and dad.
i hope next year we'll be able to do this project together.
love you..!!!

peanut chicken

there's been lots of fast food and cafeteria dinners as of late!
btw.. a mcdonald's double stack is perfection, i think.
who needs michelin stars when you have golden arches?
don't agree? two words. ONE. DOLLAR.

peanut chicken!
the first homemade meal i've made in several days.
(am i really a food blogger..?)

the sauce is only five ingredients! count it.
1. peanut butter
2. white vinegar.
3. lime juice.
4. sriracha.
5. cilantro.

served with rice fried with zucchini, carrots, red onion... in butter.

this meal comes together really quickly.
spread the sauce on chicken breasts and broil for a few minutes on each side.
in the meantime, cook up some rice or other starches.
play w the proportions of the 5 ingredients! make it yours :)

busy busy...

penne rigate in light garlic-paprika cream sauce + spinach + red onion.

school is picking up..
cake orders are picking up..
sorry for the poor photo! but didn't want to leave the blog hanging.
this pasta took less than 10 minutes..
i just threw in the veggies in the fridge that were about to buy the farm.
cheap, quick, simple!
perfect for these busy times.
i hope i will be able to update again soon, but if not, finals are soon as well.
:)
